Benjamin Kuri Kushu Grimes is an Oregon native that while attending the MUS 108 course with Jan Michael Looking Wolf, began to play the flute. Having never been able to play a single musical instrument in his life, the flute began him on a journey that changed his life forever.

Through hard work and perseverance, Ben has guest lectured throughout the western United States, recorded a CD, and performed for hundreds of listeners at various events. As of 2009 Ben has carried his flute to share with universities, reservations, galleries, public schools, churches, and festivals.

"Our differences give us strength through our knowledge and understanding of what makes each of us unique; Learn about others, and learn about yourself, but never forget that everyone is equal and that we all have the same value."
